How Exercise Can Help With Stress?

In today’s fast-paced world, stress has become a common part of daily life for many people and stress has the power to ruin our physical and mental health. However, one common tool that can help to prevent stress is exercise.

Actually, exercise releases endorphins and dopamine that will help you to stay calm and strong to deal with the challenges with so much ease. In this article, I will share how exercise can help with stress and anxiety so that you can incorporate exercises in your daily routine to make your life beautiful and healthy.

How Exercise Can Help With Stress?

Actually, I was a patient with psoriasis and this disease was in both of my hands. I was not even able to do my personal work. My mom helped me to eat and comb my hair because my hands totally cracked and gave me uncontrollable pain.

This critical situation is enough to destroy my mental and emotional health. It gives me a lot of stress for my future like what will I do in my future with this situation. These types of questions are roaming 24 hours in my mind.

When I noticed that I’m getting worse from stress instead of becoming healthy. I decided to take a step to change myself. I can’t tell you how lucky I feel that I took this decision of adding exercise in my routine.

I started with breathing exercises that will help me in self-realization due to which I become more calm and get clarity of thoughts. Along with medicines, I included exercise in my daily routine due to which I started recovering faster than before.

Initially, I was not able to perform yoga, or other exercises but with the daily practice of breathing exercises, I’ve become competent to perform yoga as well. I’m not saying that only exercise is evidence of my healthy body but yes, I can’t deny that exercise helps me a lot to change my perspective, gives me courage to deal with situations, helps me to get rid of stress, peace and self love.

Believe it or not but exercise gives me a second birth to live my life without stress. I’m going to reveal those exercises that are best and easy to reduce stress and give you a more fresh life that you will enjoy a lot.

Best Exercise To Reduce Cortisol (Stress Hormone)

If you really want to reduce cortisol levels, the stress hormone, then try these exercises that I’m going to share with you.

Aerobic Exercise

Aerobic exercises, such as brisk walking, jogging, cycling, swimming, and dancing are excellent for reducing stress. I personally chose dancing, walking and jogging exercises for 30 minutes daily. When I finished these exercises I felt really fresh, light and like no thoughts I had in my mind.

These exercises help to increase your heart rate and circulation, promoting the release of endorphins, which help deal with stress and improve your overall mood.

Yoga

Yoga is one of my favorite routines that I created for myself during my tough times.  It combines breathing exercises, body postures and meditation to promote relaxation and reduce stress.

According to several studies, practicing yoga regularly helps reduce cortisol levels and reduce symptoms of stress and anxiety. I highly recommend that you should include yoga in your daily routine to see magical results in your mental, emotional and physical health.

Tai Chi

Tai Chi is a very gentle form of exercise that comes from ancient China and focuses on slow, flowing movements and deep breathing. This mind-body practice has been shown magnificent results in reducing cortisol levels, reducing blood pressure and improving overall mental health.

Tai Chi is suitable for people of all ages. You should definitely give it a try for a healthy body and healthy mindset.

High Intensity Interval Training (HIIT

High-Intensity Interval Training (HIIT) involves intense exercise for a short period of time followed by a short period of rest, it can effectively reduce stress levels.

When I was completely recovered from psoriasis I included this workout in my routine and I really love it when I finish this high-intensity workout because it feels very light, and it also gives you a nice shape of your body which is the bonus benefit of this exercise.

Mindful Walking

Taking a walk in nature or practicing mindful walking is an effective way to reduce stress and promote relaxation. In my case, when I am on my menstruation days I feel lethargic and am not able to exercise well.

Then I choose to go walking, long walks in the garden which I love because spending time in nature reduces stress faster and also improves your mood. You can focus on being present in the moment, paying attention to your surroundings, and practicing deep breathing as you walk.

Conclusion

Through my exercise journey maybe you get some motivation to include exercises in your routine. Almost 65% plus people enjoy the benefits of exercise, so why don’t you. I told you how exercise improves mental health, then try to make this habit. Just come out of your procrastination and do exercises if you really want to live your life without any unnecessary burden that will continuously increase your stress. Right choices always give you happiness!
